Isatu Fofanah took part in the 100 and 200 meter dashes Friday evening at the NCAA East Regional, an event that is being held at Hodges Stadium at the University of North Florida.

Marshall redshirt sophomore Isatu Fofanah posted a 100 meter time of 11.60 seconds to advance to Friday's quarterfinal (6:30 p.m.) at the NCAA East Regional.

The difference in Isatu Fofanah's races is measured in hundredths of a second. However, Marshall's star sprinter has been more like a distance runner in making a very long trip to her first NCAA Championships.

Marshall sprinter Isatu Fofanah has qualified for the NCAA East Regional at the University of North Florida next Thursday-Saturday, the program learned Friday afternoon.

The Marshall University tennis and outdoor women's track programs have recorded a perfect score of 1000 on the NCAA's Division I Academic Progress Rate scale.

Marshall's Loren Dyer and Isatu Fofanah each posted third-place finishes to lead the Marshall outdoor track and field team Sunday, on the final day of competition at the Conference USA Championships.
